Mooney’s hundred off 27 balls eclipsed Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton of Namibia, who held the previous fastest hundred record – from 33 balls.

Since then, a few more astonishing T20I hundreds have added to the list of records. In 2025, Turkey’s Muhammad Fahad hit a 29-ball century against the same team, and in September 2026, India’s Abhishek Sharma hit a 30-ball hundred for India versus Afghanistan. Abhishek’s effort is the quickest T20I hundred for an India batter and the third fastest overall.

He made his hundred off just 27 balls, breaking Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton’s record of the quickest hundred in South African domestic cricket from 33 balls.

Chauhan, who eventually went on to remain unbeaten with a 41-ball 144. It included six fours and 18 sixes, a total of 24 boundaries. Estonia chased down Cyprus’s target in outstanding style, with him hitting at 351.21 and scoring.

Muhammad Fahad – 29-Ball T20I Century

2032: One of the most rapid T20I hundreds came from Turkish batter Muhammad Fahad, who smashed 100 off only 29 balls against Bulgaria in 2025. It was the second-fastest men’s T20I century of all time, with only Estonia’s Sahil Chauhan above him.

Fahad’s accomplishment is all the more remarkable as he became the second batter after Chauhan to pass the 30-ball threshold for a men’s T20I century. It also reinforced the post-2000s trend of record-breaking batting performances in associate-nation cricket.

An Indian record previously held by Rohit Sharma, who scored a century in 35 balls against Sri Lanka in 2017, fell to him as he reached triple figures with 30 deliveries remaining. It also surpassed the previous record for the fastest T20I centuries by 33 balls, previously held by Sikandar Raza and Finn Allen.

Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton – 33-Ball Century

In February 2024, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton broke the men’s T20I record with a century off 33 deliveries for Namibia against Nepal. That record stood until June in the same year, when Sahil Chauhan of Estonia smashed a hundred off just 27 balls.

Loftie-Eaton’s innings was among the quickest centuries in international men’s T20I cricket. His century from 33 balls also puts him in select company as one of the only batters to make three-figure scores from 33 deliveries.

Though his century is certainly not the quickest ever T20I hundred, it ranks as one of the fastest centuries in endemic T20 cricket.
